Autumn / Winter Catwalk Hair...

Any fashionista worth their weight wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the same outfit twice, so why get caught wearing your tresses the same again and again! If you’re lacking in inspiration for some do’s to do over the forthcoming party season – look no further than you’re A/W fashion gurus to help you decide.

We Love the 80’s

I have to agree with Calvin Harris and say I have massive amounts of love for the 80’s. Yes fine, it may have been the era in which I was born, but hello? Can you get better than the neon brights, the big fluffy hair, the bop along rock ballads and the shell suits? Maybe I’m just a bit retro…but guess again, all over the catwalks this Autumn Winter, the ready to wear collections are embracing 80’s hair with Charlie’s Angels style flicks fused with Cheryl Cole-esque bounce. Luca Luca showed this in stupendous glory at Paris Fashion Week, showcasing his gorgeous collection with his models looking sleek and sexy with the 80’s feel oozing from their very roots.

Quick How To:
1. Blow dry your hair straight with a natural bristle brush, spritzing with shine for gorgeous glossy hair.
2. Section the hair and take a piece about an inch thick whilst clipping the rest up
With this piece of hair – divide it into two pieces
3. Take any curved barrel straighteners and come in close to the root, shut the straightener, fold it over 180°, lifting the hair up behind and carefully pull the straightener through the hair to the ends.
4. Then take the next section and do the same actions – in close to the root, fold the straightener over 180°, and pull through the hair. Once all your hair is curled, use your fingers to separate the curls teasing the hair gently as you go.

Up Up and Away..

Oscar de La Renta has surpassed himself with the stunning A/W ready to wear collections, as showcased at fashion weeks around the globe, and to accompany this season – the hot and so on trend ‘Up Do’. We all love them – the trusted up do has gotten us through many a party season, but here’s a new twist...dont scrape back, twist or curl, just scoop up and spray. It’s like the beehive gone wild, sexy, sassy and just a tiny bit sculpted. This is a do that will take practice, but you cant get more bang on with this style…

Quick How to:
1. Massage a generous amount of volumising mousse into wet hair and rough dry with your head upside down to create volume. Once dry, spray hairspray liberally into roots, and backcomb.
2. Using a soft brush, shape your hair into a beehive and start to pin sections at the back.
3. Fix the fly aways at the front and so on to the crown of the head. Smooth these onto the style and use the a shine spray for extra zing. Spray liberally with hairspray. Remember to always gently brush out the backcomb, starting at the ends, working your way up to the root before washing, to avoid nasty knots and hair damage.

The Polished Act

The brilliant Balenciaga has gone simple and stylish with their ready to wear collection this A/W, with the poker straight and shiny centre parting. This do can compliment any outfit, and add the bit of sophistication when going from work to wild with no time to spare. wearability factor is huge here and all you need really is mid lenght to longer locks.

Quick How to:
1. Wash and rough dry your hair
2. Using a large barrel brush, divide your hair into sections using clips
3. Dry each section by wrapping the hair round the brush and pulling it straight through.
4. Use a shine spray button on the final pull through, spritz hair with hairspray. Create a middle parting and blast with cool air to set.
