Carry on Glamping..

The festival season is now over…BUT, don’t hang up your wellies just yet – with an eek of sunshine left to grab onto, camping out your last days of summer may be the way forward!

According to um..everyone..camping is officially cool! At last we have an excuse to buy that gorgeous floral picnic set and those must have polka dot wellies. Tents have now become trendy and camping is finally shaking off its hippy image. As the recession continues, camping provides the ultimate ‘staycation’ as Brits tighten their purse strings and enjoy holidaying at home. Camping used to evoke undesirable thoughts of soggy clothes and dishevelled hair. Makes me shudder quite honestly! However, thanks to the surge in glamping (glamorous camping) the great outdoors and style finally meet to provide an unmissable holiday experience. Accommodation varies from retro style caravans, eco-friendly pods and teepee style yurts, equipped with stoves and futons.

Glamping attire is laid back and boho chic, with statement sunnies and stonewashed denim shorts a must. Cowboy boots and cheque shirts collide in a cowgirl-esque fusion of hipness, and you can’t be caught dead without a floppy straw hat to cover up, I mean accessorise, the unwashed do! Rock it hard with statement wooden bangles and put the glam in glamping with a couple of sexy maxi dresses for warm summer evenings… No need to look further than home grown Sienna Miller.

On the make up front less is definitely more. Here are a few essentials for your trip:

- Don’t get caught out in the rain - pack a waterproof! There are lots of lightweight hooded parkas in gorgeous prints on the high street to keep you ahead in the style stakes.
- All-in-one face wipes are handy and save valuable packing space.
- Thick layers of foundation first thing in the morning is never a good look; use a tinted moisturiser containing SPF to give you a healthy glow and a welcome moisture boost!
- To avoid bad hair days use dry shampoo to keep your tresses smelling and looking great. Failing that, pack a hat! Invest in a natural tone fedora to stay on trend.
- As you’ll be spending most of your staycation in your wellies, slip a shoe liner in with a light fragrance that will give you a feeling of freshness all day long.

So stop trawling the web for a last minute deal and enjoy the last few days of the Great British Summer in style…
