Edible Glitter

I may have said that covering oneself in edible glitter is going that one step too far to make women appear as tantalizingly sweet as a sparkly strawberry iced cupcake, but I’ve come up with a far better solution. Jewels.. Lots of them.. In varying shapes and colours.

Of course just as with baking, there is a formula to getting it as tasty as possible, and even with your jewelled accessories there are two big rules to note this Summer season. It’s all about statement pieces with geometric shapes and rich coloured prominent stones. Since getting engaged, I’ve got to say im all about prominent stones, but if you want to stand out as the kitchest, shiniest cupcake, and consequently the belle of the beach this summer, these rules should be abided by.

My favourite little jewel haven at the moment is an online boutique (which perhaps appeals to me for the name) http://www.pepperpink.com/. Pepper Pink brings some serious sparkle to an ever increasing wardrobe, and can be worn at any time to give you the edge. All the precious gemstones and glistening diamonds are set in 9-18ct gold, so no (really attractive) green hands after swimming! Statement pendants and bracelets are strong enough to be worn on their own, while a selection of stacking rings, charms and trendy pendants work even better when layered up to create a boho chic look. My favourite has to be this stunning bang on trend ring with amethyst stones in an amazing 9ct Gold setting (RRP £150). Perfect with a sexy black number in the evening summer heat.

If you’re after a laid back day look to go with your bikini and flip flops, try the relaxed but o so pretty range of layered bracelets from Chlo Bo. No relation to Kate, but set to be just as famous, Chloe Moss came on the scene 5 years ago selling to smaller boutiques, but ‘thank goodness’ all you fashionistas are sighing, the collection has just become available online at http://www.chlo-bo.co.uk/. The sets of three and five are perfect for finishing off that beachy look, and would look fabulous with any maxi dress you’ve got packed up ready to go this summer.

And of course while I wouldn’t recommend eating these little wonders, they will make you look completely edible!
