The Eternal Quest For Youth...

Sitting with a cupcake on a paper plate, balanced on a paper tablecloth with barbie napkins will always transport you back to your long forgotten childhood, but perhaps not your youthful looks! As seen recently in a national newspaper, scientists have discovered ‘A miraculous 'elixir of youth'’ which could extend the human life span. The anti-ageing pill was created from a chemical found in the soil of Easter Island - one of the most remote and mysterious places on the planet. Does the latest series of LOST spring to mind? Dr Arlan Richardson, who led the research at the University of Texas, said: 'I never thought we would find an anti-ageing pill for people in my lifetime. However, rapamycin shows a great deal of promise to do just that.

An anti-ageing pill is a Holy Grail for medical research and its development would have major repercussions for society. However, can you imagine what would happen if real women got their hands on this – I mean talk about waiting list hype only similar to the likes of when Chanel launched Vamp!

They say it will be at least a decade before this comes to fruition..so in the meantime, we’re going to have rely on the lotions and potions out there to keep us young and beautiful! So add this idea of eternal youth and bringing your former glory back with the aid of a pill, to the heritage brand wagon that so many brands are jumping on, and you get a whole range of new miracle products designed to take years off you. You may have heard that Twiggy will be starring as the new face of Olay, 25 years after she started the campaign, and that Avon launched a hunt for the original campaign Faith Hines starred in throughout the 60’s… well all we need now is for golden oldie Lulu to get involved…and she has!

Lulu’s aptly named Time Bomb range is actually a really cute little range with the aim of getting you to look as glowingly gorgeous as she does! The newest addition to the Time Bomb collection is Youth Juice Secret Oil, and with a name like that you almost expect to find this seeping out of a rock somewhere on Easter Island. The oil replaces the natural oils lost with age so you can literally turn back your skin clock. Combining oils including olive, kukui, avocado and jojoba that helps replace skin’s lost natural sebum, it’s rich in vitamin E and C to quench tired, dry skin. At £30 and available at http://www.lulusplace.co.uk/ and on QVC, I think it’s a great little investment to progress in your quest for eternal youth!
'Nature gives you the face you have at twenty. Life shapes the face you have at thirty. But at fifty you get the face you deserve.' Coco Chanel
